The best solution for help you choose the aluminium alloy
The 6061 aluminium alloy is suitable for use in the rugged construction industry due to its high strength, high hardness, good machinability and ease of machining. The thermal conductivity of this alloy is another favourable characteristic, making it suitable for heat sinks and thermal management solutions.
Aluminium alloy 6063 has excellent formability, high corrosion resistance and excellent thermal conductivity, making it well suited for a variety of applications. This alloy is commonly used in extrusion processes and is ideal for profiles and shapes. In addition, 6063 aluminium alloy has good anodising and finishing properties and can be custom finished to meet specific design requirements.
6082 Aluminium alloy has similar mechanical properties to 6061aluminium alloy but is stronger and has the same advantages as 6061, good machinability and high strength, high hardness, weldability, machinability, and the ability to be used in the aerospace industry. It is an aerospace grade aluminium profile.
Each type of alloy has different properties, so finding the right alloy will make a big difference, so read on to find out.
OVERVIEW
6061 Aluminium Alloy
Aluminium alloy 6061 is an ideal :material for the manufacture of robust structural components. It offers high strength and hardness, as well as excellent machinability and surface finish properties.
Aluminium 6061 also shows good performance in terms of load carrying capacity and resistance to wind pressure.
6063 Aluminium Alloy
6063 Aluminium Alloy One of the common types of aluminium alloys used for windows and doors, 6063 Aluminium Alloy has excellent machinability and corrosion resistance. And cut with good colour surface at the performance, compared with 6061 alloy, the colour is more abundant.
6082 aluminium alloy
6082 aluminium alloy is an important member of the aerospace industry's lightweight components, with high strength and hardness, good corrosion resistance, good resistance to oxidation, weldability, and ease of mechanical processing.
Alloys 6061, 6063, and 6082 differ in composition, mechanical properties, and applications. While 6061 contains higher levels of other alloying elements, 6082 is closer to 6061, an aluminium-magnesium-silicon heat-treatable reinforced alloy with many of the same applications, but with higher shear properties.

Density:
Compared with the three alloys, 6082 aluminium alloy has the highest density.
Hardness:
Compared with T6 state under the same conditions, 6082 aluminium alloy has the highest hardness. Therefore, it can be used in areas where high hardness is required.
Durability:
The 6082 aluminium alloy contract has the highest hardness relative to the other, so it is more durable. However, this does not mean that the 6063 will have poor durability. In fact, you can see the old building, usually the other products are rotten, but the aluminum Windows are still intact.
Intensity:
6082 aluminium alloy has higher strength than other alloys.
Corrosion resistance:
6082 aluminium alloy is still best
Machinability:
6063 is the best, 6082 is second, 6061 is third.
Weldability:
6082 and 6061 are much higher than 6063. But 6082 is the better of the three
Surface treatment:
6063 has better surface treatment performance, more and richer oxidation color.
Application
6063 aluminium alloy application: aluminum handrail and fence extrusion, aluminum cabinet frame extrusion, Marine windshield frame extrusion and construction aluminum extrusion.
6061 Aluminium applications: trucks, tower buildings, ships, trams, furniture, mechanical parts, precision machining, etc.
6063 Aluminium applications: Aluminium handrail and fence extrusions, aluminium cabinet frame extrusions, marine windshield frame extrusions and architectural aluminium extrusions.
6061 Aluminium applications: trucks, tower blocks, ships, trams, furniture, machine parts, precision machining etc.
6082 Alloy Applications:
Aerospace fixtures, trucks, tower blocks, ships, pipelines and other areas where strength, weldability and corrosion resistance are required for architectural applications. Such as: aircraft parts, camera lenses, couplers, marine fittings and hardware, electronic fittings and connectors, decorative or various hardware, hinge heads, magnetic heads, brake pistons, hydraulic pistons, electrical fittings, valves and valve parts.
Composition
6061 Aluminium composition:
From the content of magnesium and silicon, about 6061 is 30~50% more than 6063, the most direct effect is that the strengthening effect of 6061 is greater than 6063
6063 Aluminium composition:
6063 aluminium alloy hot forging has a lower silicon content, which makes it easier to form a uniform and dense oxide film during oxidation treatment.
6082 Aluminium composition:
It has more Mn content in its composition, so the corrosion resistance and welding performance is better, the marine ship on the general ship plate, components, etc. use 6082 more.
